Revamp and Moving My Site

You're probably wondering, Michelle where have you been?! I've been here all this time, working on new videos, writing up new ideas, developing new products (I have an amazing rice scrub thats coming out, but I can show how to use rice for your face at home) and of course, I am redesigning my blog. It's not going to be on Xanga anymore. Sadly, I love Xanga, and it's been my home since 2004, but in the world of Web 3.0, Xanga is not stepping up, and I cannot sit here and wait for Xanga to move forward. Everything here is still Web 2.0. So I have to move all my stuff, redesign and turn it into a more community blog where it will be fun and of course helpful!

If you are good with working with wordpress, shoot me an email and we can work things out. I'm doing it on my own right now (I like to learn on my own) but I may need help.

You have to keep moving, because if you are standing still, everything around you changes, but if you are moving, you are changing everything.

Tonight in NYC

Lancome is hosting a book signing tonight 4pm-7pm at their boutique in New York. Come on over and bring your friends. It’ll be a fun evening of socializing, cupcakes and Champagne! (If you're under 21 you can drink yummy juice!) 201 Columbus Ave at 69th St. NYC

Will update later! I have so much to share! Miss you all. I'm busy working on a new Gaming channel. Super excited. It launches this November.
I've already finished the formula for the tinted sunscreen. It can now even out your skintone, so no need for foundation if you want a light coverage with extra protection. Right now I'm finishing up on the packaging for the new toner. I love designing, it's the best part of the job (besides formulating).
One last quick update, I'm developing a clothing line for men and women. It's going to be a full clothing line, not t-shirt. Everything will be designed by myself and my partner. I'm bringing the futuristic style of blade runner into modern society. Will update on designs. I want your opinions of course!

Goodbye To The King

I don't consider Michael Jackson the King of Pop. He was more than that. To me, he was a King. Like most of everyone, I've been mourning ever since I heard the news about his death. I still cannot believe it's real. I remember listening to his music and watching his music videos on tv. He was spectacular and people looked passed all the good he did.

Michael Jackson has done more good to the world, but the media portrayed him in a different light.

I don't have a real update because well...last week I lost my internet and I got sick and now this week I'm going to NYC for work and I am finalizing the bottles for IQQU's new toner and sample packaging. Exciting yes, but I bring you something better.

P.S Prince removed the audio from my Purple Hazy Tutorial, he is anti YouTube (and video games) even though it was a cover of his Purple Rain song from Urselle, they still removed it. So now I am reuploading a newer verison using Kaskade and Samantha James. I love them =-) I'm still a fan of Prince, he just needs to keep up with the time.

Time Burton Presents Alice In Wonderland

As you all can tell, I am a HUGE Tim Burton fan. I love his style (it's apparent in my previous Tim Burton makeup inspired entry) and I love his vision. One of his biggest inspiration is Edgar Allen Poe (which happens to be mine too!) and his dark, hunting fairy tales are always unforgettable.

I love how Tim Burton is staying true to the original feel of the book. Although, it's a tad bit darker, compare his vision to the artists Dalziel and Arthur Rackham who were the original artists of Alice in Wonderland.

Notice how deformed Alice looks? Compare it to the Red Queen. Very similar! Love it!

Arthur Rackham is one of my all time favorite illustrator. His use of monotones and inks flow so beautifully. I love his ethereal feel...

Summer Lush Makeup Tutorial

This is the first of the summer series. I wanted to play around with greens and purples. Green is a very youthful, healthy color while purple is a more royal mature color. Together they blend beautifully in harmony. Remember, you don't have to use exactly what I used. I was going to use all NYX eyeshadows, but I did not want my Urban Decay Sets go to waste. I hope you enjoy this look.

Tim Burton Inspiration

I was watching Sweeney Todd and for the record, Johnny Depp is the hottest man ever to grace Hollywood (and he's very anti Hollywood, love it) and Tim Burton's vision has always inspired me. Even in art, I would draw and paint pale women with darkened eyes.

There is something about this dark look that is eerily sexy... is that even a word?

So I got in fron of the mirror and did a quick Tim Burton inspired look. Mind you, I plan on revisiting this theme and creating a more in depth tutorial on it. Perhaps add some color somewhere...we'll see.

I will make a tutorial on how to make this headband. It will be up next week!

I also found a makeup outline of it. From Fashion week for Fall 2009, Zac Posen, Mac Lead Makeup Artist was inspired by Mr. Burton and recreated his signature look.

Of course, these gals would look beautiful with even war paint painted on them. I think Sasha got the look down to the T!

Off topic, can I gush about how amazing Sasha Pivovarova is. Her look is so piercing. She has a doll like face, but eyes that can kill. I also like her because she's an artist. Yay for artists!

P.S

Is it just me, or does Twilight have a Tim Burton feel to it? Also, what is this whole fascination with the vampire guy Edward. Am I missing out on something here? Should I cave in and read the book? Yes, no, maybe so?

He's cute...but he's no Johnny Depp :P

Summer is here and it's time to opt for something light and fresh.

Tinted Moisturizers

For me, I prefer tinted moisturizer. If you have good skin, opt for something light with minimal coverage.
A tinted moisturizer is a hybrid of a moisturizer and foundation. The coverage is usually sheer and it finishes dewy or satin like. It's perfect for those who want to rock the natural look, but need a bit of sheer coverage to even out the skin tone.

My top favorite tinted moisturizers

CoverGirl Smoothers. Almay Smart Shade Makeup.

A few of the top tinted moisturizers you can purchase at your local drugstore. They both have a nice dewy finish...well most of the tinted moisturizers do. CG Smoothers evens out the skin tone nicely. Almay's Smart Shade is marketed as a foundation, but to me it feels more like a tinted moisturizer. It has light refracting properties, so it brightens and illuminates the skin. The formula is a pale gray white color, and has tiny little black specks in them. As you blend the foundation into your skin, the pale white formula blends in and gives you a beautiful sheer finish. Both have SPF 15 and both are very inexpensive!

In summer 2007, I was wearing the Clinique City Block and my skin looked fantastic. One of my all time favorites. Stila Sheer Color is very moisturizing and has a silky texture to it.

Kiehls makes amazing products. Their packaging may be a bit understated, but their products deliver. Their tinted moisturizer is perfect for those with acne and super sensitive skin. Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer is a staple in the industry. What makes this tinted moisturizer amazing is the formula of the moisturizer. It hydrates the skin and firms it just a bit while providing a light coverage. It has a beautiful satin finish. I always come back for more.



I've been sporting this double winged eyeliner. I was inspired by manga when I was doodling an eye in my sketchbook. I added short lashes near the bottom to really open up the eye more. When applying the liquid eyeliner, I extend the line out first, then add the second wing later. It makes the lashes appear longer and gives it a doll like appearance.

Here I am wearing my Clinque City Block Sheer. And all these photos are not airbrushed. Of course, I color corrected them.

I love the summer time! Of course, don't forget your sunscreen.

For skin tone reference, the second photo is my natural skin color with no photoshopping or color correcting what so ever. My lip color is Nars Turkish Delight.

I just finished giving myself an egg mask facial.

Don't forget an ice facial. It feels very cool and refreshing for the summertime!

Digitas and More

So I've been traveling a lot lately. Which is why I have not been able to update. Most of my travels are for business, not leisure..but of course, I try to squeeze a bit of fun times in them!

My survival kit when traveling, laptop, magazine, snacks, tea for antioxidants and of course...a snuggly stuff critter to comfort me. I loath flying.

So I arrived at my hotel. I usually don't like to take photos of hotels or where I am staying...because I am not a fan of parading or gloating stuff like that around ( nothing wrong if others do it =), but it's not for me) but what makes this hotel so special is, well...

Clean Queen size bed with corner view...cool..... Sewing kits and clean towels...cool

Nifty mirrors...nothing new... 3 choices of robes, silk kimono, bath robe and ninja robe. Thats cool!

Matrix blue atmosphere lighting...not bad...

Ok...so what makes this hotel so cool?

They gave me a Playstation 3! Including games! HOW COOL IS THAT?!

Anyone who reads my blog or knows me, knows I'm A HUGE GAMER. And the fact that I missed E3 because of this trip, they wanted to make sure I felt right at home, and provided a PS3 for me. Sigh...

Life does not get better than this. There was also a huge Aston Martin party in the lobby, I was surrounded by my dream cars, Vanquish, DB7, DB9, etc...sigh. This is the life everyone...NYC, video games and Aston Martins..

So I was invited to Digitas. Al Gore gave an impressive presentation about New Media. Pretty exciting stuff!

Here is the gang. HappySlip, Tay Zonday, Esmee Denters, Kina Granis, David Choi, Alphacat and of course, KevJumba.

We had to do interviews about New Media...and SMOSH was there too. We were YouTubing =p

Fun stuff. I got to whore out IQQU

Digitas was pretty fun, and a great place to network.

The lovely ladies. Kina and I were wearing flats, my stilettos can only withstand a certain amount of standing! They're shoes to look pretty in, not to walk around in!

Ray William Johnson. He's a beast! Kev Jumba, he's a sweetheart. I did his makeup =p

Backstage!

On stage. A live makeup demo on stage. She was already beautiful to begin with. KevJumba wanted her!

At the end, we did a meet and greet. Autographing everything! Basketballs, yearbooks, shoes, arms...but sadly...no boobs. I'm not famous until I sign a boob!

While I was in NYC, I stopped by an amazing hot dog spot. It was 2 for 4 bucks. Delicious!

Everyone is asking about my sister. Here she is, she's beautiful! I won't let any guys near her. Hmph!

I also got to hang out with the beautiful Elle. She is also known as Allthatglitters21 from YouTube. A real sweetheart. She's also very tall!

So that concludes my mini adventure. I'll be visiting NYC more frequently due to business. I cannot wait to upload new videos. I'll see you all soon on the next update! =D
